A few questions for Juliet...

You supported your snowboarding career by modeling, but how did you score the cover of Vogue?
I went to New York City for this cover test where photographers shoot models to see who suits them best. I didn’t know I’d end up on the cover. A few months later I was on a snowboard trip with a snowboard magazine, and we ended up passing by Milan. We went to a newsstand and there I was on the cover. We all were pretty surprised.

Is there anything unusual to learn on a fixed gear bike?
Having to always pedal. The wheels turn as the pedals turn, which is strange at first. Another thing is breaking by using your feet to hop and skid. If it's an emergency you stop by locking your legs.

What are some great places for fixed gear biking?
New York is a cool scene. The roads are one way, big and wide, and the traffic moves fast. No one is going to pop out from a side street. People I had never met before embraced and showed me around. The same goes for San Francisco and Portland.

Describe a perfect bike day.
It's always nice when lots of people come out to ride. It would be a sunny day, and we all would go session a few new and different spots.
